Reporting to Mr. Dunie, Simon Beale will be responsible for sales of all products to all markets worldwide. Mr. Beale joined ProQuest Information and Learning in June 2002 as vice president of International Sales and Marketing. In 2004, he assumed responsibility for driving international business development initiatives and in January 2006 was named senior vice president of global sales.
Prior to joining ProQuest CSA, Mr. Beale was executive director of sales at Elsevier Health Sciences, EMEA division, director of sales at Harcourt Publishers Europe, director of sales at Prentice Hall Europe, and international sales and marketing manager at Pitman/FT Publishing, Pearson. He has a solid track record of consistently building and leading customer-centric, high performance sales organizations. He holds a bachelor's degree from Loughborough University, UK.
Also effective immediately, Mark Hyer will be the vice president of sales for North America, reporting to Simon Beale. In his new role, Mr. Hyer will be responsible for managing the Higher Education Library team in the US and all Canadian market segments, as well as Inside Sales which includes Public Library and Community College market segments.
Since 1993, Mr. Hyer held various sales and management positions within the CSA organization and was most recently Vice President, Worldwide Sales. He built a sales organization that grew from a handful of people to more than 70 customer-facing positions over a short period of time. Mr. Hyer holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from James Madison University.
Terry Robinson has been named vice president of sales for EMEA and Latin America, reporting to Simon Beale. Mr. Robinson has over 20 years experience in publishing and related fields and has worked and lived in Canada, Europe, and Asia. Joining ProQuest Information and Learning in 2003, Mr. Robinson has been serving as vice president, international sales, since March 2006 and was formerly sales director, EMEA. Mr. Robinson held prior senior management positions within Pearson, Blackwell Science, Times Mirror International Publishers, and Whitaker Information Services. He has an Honors BA from Carleton University in Canada. With a proven track record of driving revenue growth, he has been particularly successful in managing across cultural boundaries and developing both emerging and mature markets.
