ProQuest increases library options for collection management with launch of ND Press
New service adds more than 330 newspaper titles to a library's current catalog
ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 31, 2005 -- ProQuest Information and Learning announces the introduction of ND Press, a new service enabling librarians to print reference copies of today's newspapers from around the world directly in the library. ProQuest will distribute ND Press to public, academic, government and corporate libraries worldwide.

“ND Press provides an innovative collection management solution, allowing libraries to meet patron demand for international newspaper content and ensure that researchers using the library have the most current information at their fingertips,” said Rod Gauvin, senior vice president of publishing for ProQuest Information and Learning.  “ND Press gives libraries increased control of their newspaper collection and expands the number of papers available for patrons and researchers.  This new service joins ProQuest’s acclaimed newspapers program in providing a total news solutions for researchers.”

ND Press, a service by NewspaperDirect, prints exact newspaper replicas of more than 330 titles from 60 countries in 36 languages.   ND Press supports academic research particularly in the fields of international studies, political science, and business.  In addition, ND Press serves a public library’s diverse population by providing access to newspapers from around the world the same day the paper is released.  ND Press has a broad selection of prominent titles such as Le Monde, Frankfurter Allegemaine Zeitung, El Pais, and Mainichi Shimbun, as well as key titles from the United States, including the Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, and The Washington Post.

ND Press allows newspapers to be printed from multiple workstations to any networked printers.  Libraries can customize their service to have titles printed automatically or as needed.  The new service boasts a 60-day archive of past issues.  Users have the option of printing the entire newspaper or individual page prints, including article text, advertisements, classifieds, and notices (varies by publication).
