ProQuest Introduces "Curriculum Match Factor"
New service matches ABI/INFORM® content to curriculum for popular business courses
ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 4, 2005 -- ProQuest Information and Learning announced that it will provide Curriculum Match Factor analysis, a new service to identify and incorporate the most-respected journals and the most-cited articles from sources worldwide in its ABI/INFORM suite of business databases, to match the most-used textbooks in the most-taught business courses. ProQuest Information and Learning, a unit of ProQuest Company, creates and publishes databases for libraries and educational institutions worldwide.

The new service uses ProQuest® Smart Search technology to take users directly to the most relevant articles from among ABI/INFORM’s thousands of relevant sources.  Curriculum Match Factor analyses demonstrate the high correlation of ABI/INFORM content to what’s being taught in business courses.

“Our goal is ensure that we develop products that can help students succeed in the classroom.  We accomplish this by matching our content offerings with the curriculum needs of the institution.  Curriculum Match Factor analyses demonstrate how we meet those needs and confirms the strength of ABI/INFORM as a learning tool,” said Todd Fegan, Vice President, Publishing, ProQuest Information and Learning.

ABI/INFORM customers may request a Curriculum Match Factor analysis to compare their most popular business course curricula with resources available in ABI/INFORM.  ABI/INFORM offers more premium full-text, from highly regarded and peer-reviewed sources, than any other provider.  The collection includes many of the best business publishers:  Springer Verlag, John Wiley & Sons, Sloan Management Review Association, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Oxford University Press, MCB, and many more.

To request an analysis, library representatives may email curriculummatchfactor@il.proquest.com.  Free trials of ABI/INFORM and all ProQuest databases are available.
